[Introduction]
This software is the firmware update utility for the HD-WLU3/R1 and HD-WHU3/R1 series.

If the current firmware version displayed on the RAID utility is one of the versions below, the firmware needs to be updated.
  - V03L01R04-10:1
  - V03L01R05-10:1
  - V03L01R06-10:1
  - V03L01R07-10:1
  - V03L01R08-10:1
  - V03L01R09-10:1
* Updating with the updater for Windows is recommended if you have a Windows computer. Even if the USB cable or AC adapter is accidentally disconnected during the update and the update is cancelled, the updater for Windows allows you to try again. The updater for Windows is available from the Buffalo download page, and it is not compatible with Mac computers.
To check the current firmware version:
    1. Open the updater.
    2. Check "Current version" displayed on the window.

[How to Update]
1. Connect the HD-WLU3/R1 series or HD-WHU3/R1 series unit to the computer.
2. Double-click the downloaded file "hd-wxu3_mac_rev110_wr.dmg". The "hd-wxu3_mac_rev110" disk will be extracted to the desktop.
3. Copy the "hd-wxu3_mac_fwupdater" folder in the "hd-wxu3_mac_rev110" disk to the desktop.
4. From the desktop, double-click "WxU3_UP_MAC" in the "hd-wxu3_mac_fwupdater" folder to launch the firmware updater.
* If the current firmware is already the latest version, a message window will appear to inform you that the update is not needed. In such a case, close the updater.
5. Click [Update] to start the firmware update.
6. Please wait until the firmware update finishes. When finished, a message window will appear and inform you that the update is finished.
* Do not disconnect USB cables or AC adapter during the update. If disconnected, a malfunction may occur.

[Warning]
 - Back up your data on the HD-WLU3/R1 series or HD-WHU3/R1 series unit before starting the update.
 - If updating multiple HD-WLU3/R1 or HD-WHU3/R1 series units, connect only one drive to the computer at a time to update.
 - Disconnect any USB devices (except for mouse or keyboard) before updating. Connect only one HD-WLU3/R1 series or HD-WHU3/R1 series unit that you will update at a time.
