How to Update

Connect the AirStation to the same network subnet as your PC. For best results, connect the AirStation directly to your PC with a LAN cable.

  1. Boot your PC.

  2. Confirm that the LAN adapter's and the AirStation's IP addresses are on the same network subnet. Refer to the AirStation's user manual for instructions on changing its IP address.

  3. Select Run from the Start Menu.
    Enter "http://192.168.11.1/" (the AirStation's LAN-side IP address) into the field and click "OK".

  4. Please select how you want to change the firmware:

    Change from User-friendly Firmware -> Professional Firmware


Updating Professional Firmware to the Latest Version

  1. Settings opens.

    If you haven't created your account yet, enter a username and password and click "Done".

  2. The setup screen is displayed.

    Click "Administration" from the upper menu. When the login prompt appears, enter your new username and password.

  3. Click "Firmware Upgrade".

  4. Click "Browse" and select the firmware file. The filename should be "wzr300hp-pro-XXX.enc" (where "XXX" is the version number).
    Click "Upgrade".


  5. During the firmware update, the diag LED will blink for about 5 minutes. When the update is complete, the LED will turn off. Do not turn off the AirStation until the firmware update is complete. If the unit is unplugged while the diag LED is still blinking, the AirStation may be damaged.


  6. Proceed to the next step.


User friendly Firmware -> Professional Firmware

  1. When the login prompt appears, enter "root" for the username and leave the password field blank. Note: if you configured a password, enter the password that you configured.

  2. Click "Update AirStation Firmware" at the top of the screen.


  3. Click "Browse" to the right of "Firmware File Name" and browse to the extracted firmware file with the form "wzr300hp-pro-XXX.enc" (where "XXX" is the version number). Click "Update Firmware".



  4. During the firmware update, the Diag LED will flash for about 5 minutes. When the update is complete, the LED will turn off. Do not turn off the AirStation until the firmware update is complete. If the unit is unplugged while the Diag LED is still flashing, the AirStation may be damaged.


  5. Proceed to the next step.

  1. To open Settings, refer to steps 1 to 3 of "How to Update" section above.

  2. Click the "Status" tab at the top of the screen.

  3. Confirm that the firmware version is "build 30356".

  1. Removed "Summer Time(DST)" option. To set summer time(DST), configure "country-selection".
  2. Removed "vtysh OSPF BGP RIP router" from the "Advanced Routing" options.
  3. Removed the [Auto-Refresh] button located on [Setup]-[Networking]-[Current Bridging Table].
  4. Options for the AOSS button functions were moved to [Services]-[AOSS Button Function].
  5. Removed "XBOX Kaid" option.
  6. Removed "My Ad Network" option.
  7. Removed "Optimize for Gaming" option from "QoS Settings".
  8. The setting for IPv6 was moved to [Setup]-[IPv6].
  9. Removed "PPTP Status" from the "Wireless Status" status list.
  10. Removed "DHCP Server" from the "System Information" status list.
