How to update the firmware

Connect the AirStation to the same subnet of your network as your computer. For best results, connect the AirStation directly to your computer with a LAN cable.

  1. Start up Windows.

  2. Please confirm that both the LAN adapter and the AirStation's IP addresses are on the same network subnet. Refer to AirStation's user manual for instructions on changing IP address settings.

  3. Select [Run] from the Start Menu.
    Enter "http://192.168.11.1/" (the AirStation's LAN side IP address) in the field and click "OK".

  4. Select how you want to change the firmware:

    Change from User Friendly Firmware -> Professional Firmware


Updating Professional Firmware to the Latest Version

  1. Navigate to the AirStation's web admin interface.

    If you haven't created a account yet, enter a username and password. Click "Change Password".

  2. This screen is displayed.
    Click "Administration" from the upper menu.
    When the login prompt appears, enter your new username and password.

  3. Click "Firmware Upgrade".

  4. Click "Browse" to the right of "Please select a file to upgrade" and navigate to the extracted firmware file. The file should be in the form "wzrhpg300nh2-pro-***.enc" where *** is the version number. Click "Upgrade".



  5. During the firmware update, the diag LED will flash for about 5 minutes. When the update is complete, the LED will turn off. Do not turn off the AirStation until the firmware update is complete. If the unit is unplugged while the diag LED is still flashing, the AirStation may be damaged.


  6. Proceed to the next step, "Firmware Version Confirmation".


User Friendly Firmware -> Professional Firmware

  1. When the login prompt appears, enter "root" for the username and leave the password field blank. Note: if you configured a password, enter the password that you configured.

  2. Click "Update AirStation Firmware" at the top of the screen.


  3. Click "Browse" to the right of "Firmware File Name" and browse to the extracted firmware file with the filename "wzrhpg300nh2-pro-***.enc" (where *** is the version number). Click "Update Firmware".



  4. During the firmware update, the diag LED will flash for about 5 minutes. When the update is complete, the LED will turn off. Do not turn off the AirStation until the firmware update is complete. If the unit is unplugged while the diag LED is still flashing, the AirStation may be damaged.


  5. Proceed to next step, "Firmware Version Confirmation".

  1. To open the setup screen, refer to steps 1 to 3 of "How to update the firmware" above.

  2. To see Router Information, please click the "Status" tab at the top of the screen.

  3. Confirm that the firmware version is "build 30356".

  4. Removed "RADIUS" from "Wireless Security Mode" options.
  5. Options for the AOSS button functions were moved to [Services]-[AOSS Button Function].
  6. Removed "XBOX Kaid" option.
  7. Removed "My Ad Network" option.
  8. Removed "Optimize for Gaming" option from "QoS Settings".
  9. The setting for IPv6 was moved to [Setup]-[IPv6].
  10. Removed "PPTP Status" from the "Wireless Status" status list.
  11. Removed "DHCP Server" from the "System Information" status list.
